Then again, some charge hundreds to thousands of dollars to get started. If this describes your business, it's usually because they know customers will not be around for long and it's best to get as much money up front as possible because there won't be residual commissions later.

2. Your MLM Compensates the "First In," and the "Last In" Loses

If anyone makes more money on your effort and success in signing up new customers, members or business builders than you do, then your MLM is compensating the "First In." And this simply isn't fair (or ethical).

In many businesses, the high membership fee is distributed unevenly, where the last in get less compensation than the people who were "in" before them. Shouldn't you get the highest percentage of compensation on your customers?

3. Your MLM Requires Members to Purchase Products They Used to Live Without

The truth is, many MLM Companies developed a product line that they know can't compete with the store brands in quality or price. Then again, some are great products that actually could complete, but they've decided to create a distribution company with an MLM model. Either way, that's besides the point...

Many of these products that MLM companies manufacture are things that people didn't need before, still don't really need and wouldn't buy if they weren't a member of the business. And in difficult times (like now), people will eventually stop trying to budget for something they could and used to live without.

4. Your MLM Requires Large Inventory Purchases to Achieve a Bonus

Every MLM company promises "residual" income in the form of commissions on the purchases of your customers. But most of their commission rates are very low.

So here's the way to achieve a bonus or build your residual income... #1 is to recruit a lot of members (because of the "recruitment" model of the business). #2 is to spend a lot of money on a garage full of products or inventory that you'll never be able to use up. This is why people spends hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars a month to achieve bonuses.

5. You're MLM Expects YOU to Resell Products & Become a Distributor

Because you're already spending so much on products that you and your family can't consume monthly, many MLM's expect you to sell products for them. Unfortunately, many times this inventory becomes the demonstration products you don't even make money on.

Even though in Party Plan, this is what you've signed up for... If you really want to be a distributer and reseller of products, consider an E-Bay Business. Purchase good products in bulk and sell them online where people usually can charge double or triple what they paid for them.

6. The Value of Your MLM's Products are Not Worth the Price

Because of how your MLM company chose to market their products with distributers rather than in the store, their sales will never be as high as they need them to be. So to become profitable, they must charge more than what their products are actually worth.

To be able to do this, MLM companies over-sensationalize their products or pay for celebrity endorsements to justify the price. They also claim their products are cures to ailments that have been unfounded by actual scientist... and that's why they don't actually have patents on their products or fulfill their promises to customers.

7. The Motivation to Join Your MLM Company is Based Solely on Money

Every business has a mission. Most legitimate businesses have a mission,
